What is a layover flight? A layover flight is a flight where two planes’ journeys are connected. Layover is the time an airline gives you to switch planes between flights. Flight routes with the option for layovers are known as layover flights. Unlike stopovers, a layover lasts for less than a day. They last long on international trips due to the need to pass through immigration and customs. Layover flights are less expensive when compared to direct flights, making it an ideal choice for low-budget travellers.
